To Prepare 
 

1. Limit plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before treatment.

 

2. Avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment.

 

The Procedure
 

1. The laser equipment will be adjusted according to the color, thickness, and location of your hair being treated as well as your skin color.

2. You and our nurse/laser tech, Maureen Mussomele will both wear appropriate eye protection.

3. A cold gel will be applied so the laser light will penetrate the skin.

4. A pulse of light will be administered to the treatment area. From that moment, Maureen will watch the area for several minutes to gage the best settings and to check your skin for any adverse reactions.

5. If you happen to experience any discomfort after the procedure, we may apply ice packs, anti-inflammatory creams or lotions, or cold water.

6. We recommend that follow-up treatments be scheduled four to six weeks later. The number of treatments varies patient to patient.

 

Afterward

 

~ The treated area of your skin will look and feel like it's sunburned for possibly one to two days. We recommend cool compresses and moisturizers.

~ The unwanted hair from the areas treated will fall out over the next month.

~ To help prevent temporary changes in the color of the treated skin, remember to wear sunscreen for the next month.
